Top tips from a Grade 9 student:
-
Learn as much vocabulary as humanly possible: rule one of any language.
-
Learn the past tense, present tense and future tense.
-
Learn the conditional tenses, imparfait, futur simple, plus-que-parfait, and futur antérieur.
-
Listen to a lot of French: listen to French music, French news, podcasts, YouTube videos, audiobooks, anything you can get your hands on.
-
Write lots of practice essays in French.
-
Ask your teacher for help if you need it.
-
Practice speaking French with your friends.
-
Be consistent: a wise saying is - if you don't use it, you lose it. Same thing goes with languages.
-
Do practice papers.
